Why water comes out when running AC? Is this water drinkable or how safe?

We see water coming out of the air conditioner (AC). Before explaining the source of this water, I have not discussed some of the issues that I see in my daily life.

If we keep a glass of ice cold water at normal temperature then after a while we see water droplets on the glass. This water is actually water vapor in the air which comes into contact with the cold of the glass and condenses into water.

☞ Again, if the weather is cold outside and the house is hot, you will see the same drop of water in the window glass which is actually the warmer water vapor in the house.

☞ A lot of similar work is done in AC. In the AC unit we have a liquid known as a refrigerant (which is basically very cold in the liquid state). Refrigerant flows in AC pipes. So what your AC does is it collects the heated air from your house and carries it through the pipes where the refrigerant is flowing. Now the heat from the air absorbs the refrigerant liquid and the air cools.

There is moisture in the air and this moisture condenses as the air cools. Now in place of the upper glass we imagine the AC pipe. Just like glass, water vapor is converted into water by the flow of hot air over the pipe and cold air (which has cooled by coming in contact with the refrigerant) flows into our house / office. Here the condensed water in the pipes is sent out using the drain tube and this is what you see.

➤ Now the thing is that all these water is the air water of the house which is coming out with AC. There is no sewage water that will be polluted. So what can be eaten with pure consideration?

But this water can not be eaten, do not forget to eat. Because even if it can be seen clearly with the naked eye, there are actually contaminants in the water !! How?

⇨ In fact, the air in our house contains a lot of fine matter (dust, dirt, bacteria, germs). When the AC carries the hot air of the house in contact with the pipe, it also carries the material with the air. This substance is mixed with condensed water. So if you drink this water, you will also eat germs which are harmful. So this water is not drinkable or safe.

✔ But you can reuse this water for other purposes if you want. 

At the base of the tree in the garden, the floor of the house, cleaning the windows, washing the car, etc.

Can AC water be consumed?

If you want to drink AC water, you have to boil this water first (disinfect). Then filtering should be done (dust, dirt free). Then you can eat. But I don't think it should be eaten for a long time.
